BBQ Chicken Breast

When I’m swamped or right before a workout, the quicker the prep, the better. Here’s a simple but filling BBQ chicken dish that’ll take you less than 10 min from beginning to fuel.

Protein:
* 3-5 chicken breasts

Ingredients:
* 1/4 cup vegetable oil (any type will do)
* 1/2 cup dry white wine
* 1 tsp. vinegar
* 1/2 tsp. paprika
* 1 garlic clove, finely diced
* 1/4 tarragon
* 2 tsp. salt

Preparation:
Thoroughly mix all the ingredients in a bowl, then fully submerge the chicken and let it marinate for a good 5 minutes. Cook over low/medium heat – when ready, plate and lightly brush with BBQ sauce. Enjoy!

    I was reading over this recipe and it sounds good. However, was there a mistake made for the amount of vegetable oil (1-cup)? It sounds like way to much and not very healthy. I was talking to a nutrionist who said that you shouldn’t be eating any more than 1-2 tablespoons per day.

    Can you let me know if this was typed wrong or if this is the amount needed for the recipe?

    Thanks!

    As Hussain stated, the oil is only 1/4 cup. But the most important fact is that you are NOT cooking (or eating) the marinade. You remove the chicken from the marinade and grill it. They don’t spell that out in the recipe, but that’s what it means. Then lightly brush with your favorite BBQ sauce when grilling is complete. The marinade keeps the chicken moist and juicy without adding significant calories.

    maybe this is a stupid question but do you eat this by itself or with something??? like rice for example?

    I was wondering the same thing. Like a salad or something?

    if you’re trying to stick to the first phase of protein based foods; it wouldn’t be the best idea to be eating rice or anything with carbohydrates – thats the stuff that creates the fat you’re trying to get rid of. i don’t see why not a salad, be carful with dressing tho.
